The color of what is real /// short outfit post

Ahh the month is almost over and I still have some outfit photos left I wanted to post!

I didn't really put a lot of effort into dressing these past days. I was at work most of the time so I didn't bother to wear "nice" clothes or make up. Most of the time I'm just extremely tired lately. I could sleep all day long and still be tired. I tried to do more sports again, but it just doesn't really help. my sleep-wake rhythm is totally messed up and even if I get to bed early I can't fall asleep before 2am or so. When I get up the next morning and make it through the day like a zombie, I feel incredibly tired. At work I have a hard time concentrating. And when I get home in the evening, I sometimes just fall alseep on the sofa at 5pm or so, and wake up an hour or two later, and of course then I'm restless until it's 2am again. It's really fucked up, but I just hope it's that passing "springtime tiredness" that people talk so much about. I never had that before, but I suppose it could have to do with it.

Anyway, here's an outfit I wore before I got possessed by some lazy sloth or koala spirit:

Hair care routine part II: Why I don't like silicones

Time for part two of the hair care routine mini series!

Here I'll just talk about why I chose the specific products that I mentioned in my previous post.
The hair care products I use are all from a local drug store and thus probably not available where some of you live, so while in the first entry I focused on specific products that I use, this time I'll just try to explain what is important in a hair care product for me, and what I recommend too look out for. It might help you to look out for hair care products in your area that are similar to the ones I use.

A comparison pic from when my haircut was still fresh! The rest didn't change so much, it's mostly the bangs that are now finally cut properly :3 I should probably add that that was a really good hair day on the left photo, and normally my old "bangs" were just a wall of hair over the right side of my face XD

Hair care routine part I: What I use

A while ago, sometime before I went to the hairdresser, some of you asked me to post about my hair care routine - I actually wrote this post back then but then forgot to put it online, haha :'D So here it is, finally! I actually wrote about this topic a few times before on my blog, and I was a bit surprised to see that apparently, I've been keeping almost the same hair care routine since 2011 by now.

This is really more a description of the products I use to treat my hair. As far as I know these specific products are only available locally in Austria, Germany and I think Switzerland, but the general type of product (shampoo, conditioner etc) is what matters most for this explanation.

So the products are still mostly the same since 2011, because ever since I use these products my hair is in the best possible state - smooth and silky (if it's not too moist weather) and generally healthy. I really see no reason to change as of now, and I am super happy that I found this routine that has been working really well for a few years now!

„If you can’t say something nice … don’t say nothing at all!“

A more serious post is on the agenda today - and for my German-speaking readers I also worte a German version of this text, you can find it below!
Für meine deutschsprachigen Leser gibt es eine Übersetzung des Textes in der zweiten Hälfte dieses Posts. direkt unter dem ersten Bild!

Okay, so what is this about?
Recently, I came across several little "incidents" of body shaming but also read several good posts about why it is absolutely shitty behavior. So I decided I'd throw in my two cents as well.

One especially shocking situation was when a facebook friend posted her photo on an event page about some online "model" casting for an alternative/scene facebook page. She received so much hate and negative comments that reading thought them really made me sick. People insulted her for her make up, but also her facial features in such a disgusting way that I don't even wanna think back to
it. I looked at some of the other people's photos on that page, many of them were really pretty girls, not perfect models for the "real" model industry but simply people with style and an alternative kind of taste. And the hate on that page was just unbearable. People were insulting the OPs, the owners of the facebook page and even each other with such fervor that I was close to losing all my faith in humanity. Ironically, most people were not even aware that the site was explicitly looking for "alternative" people and not "normal" models.

The second, although milder incident that caused me to finally write about this topic was when Asu posted a link on her facebook fanpage  that was supposed to encourage "plus size" girls to wear what they want, even if it's short hot pants showing off much of their legs, as in the shown example. And the comments that followed were... well, at least people seemed to try to stay civilized. But still, I was wondering what the fuck these people want with their pseudo "constructive criticism" about a person who will most likely never read the comments there and even if she did likely not give a fuck about some random stranger's opinion - because if she did, she most likely wouldn't wear such revealing clothes, plus size or not.

Baking, baking, baking!

Watch out, calorie bombs ahead! :D

It's really been a while since I last posted about my baking adventures... German speaking readers who're reading my blog for a longer time might remember how much I love baking, and that I used to post recipies from time to time too. While I suppose not too many of you are interested in this topic, I wanted to show some pics of my recent "creations" (abominations? XD). Unfortunately, while I'm pretty good at baking (according to others) I suck at taking photos of the stuff I make. Mainly because it literally gets torn out of my hands the moment I try to take a photo, haha. But anyway, here's some (calorie-rich) pics!

This is a very basic poppy seed cake that I made for my stepdad's birthday. Unfortunately the chocolate icing was too soft for room temperature so it stayed "shiny" (on the left pic it's fresh so it's still very liquid of course). I'm not very creative when it comes to decorating stuff, mostly because I'm too lazy and either use too little or too much stuff, haha.

Some flowers grow with love alone

Hello there!

I'm trying to update this blog more regularly again, I hope you won't mind that it means that the entries will be more mixed, thematically.... Today I have another outfit that I also uploaded on lookbook again - this page is really fun, I like the way you can use the colors of your outfit as "tags" and mark certain clothing items... it's really cool! Farther below I also wrote a bit about my 8th anniversary with my boyfriend (but it's not very exciting :'D)

Holy crap, 8th years. I somehow still can't believe it myself. That's more than 1/3 of my whole life!

Herpderp. I wore this outfit last week to university - it's comfortable and simple, but actually even more "styled" than what I usually look like (jeans + T-shirt). But I'm a bit motivated to put more effort into dressing again, especially now that I don't go to work every day and on some days only have some university courses.

Follow up: Shironuri Shooting!

So as promised here are the photos from our little photo shooting during the Shironuri meet up ^__^
It wasn't professional or anything, but I think the results are really good! ChiChii took the photos and I think she is a really talented photographer! And I was very surprised how much I like the outcome of the photos with myself in them ^^"

It was really freezing cold, and there was a sharp wind blowing from time to time. My hands turned red and my finger nails blue within minutes, so I had to photoshop my hands to a normal color XD

With Rin Redgrave (her facebook / her tumblr), who edited the photo in a really cool way!

Just a fair warning

A biological hazard is a biological substance that is infectious and thus poses a threat to the health of organisms. The biohazard symbol is used to label such substances, so exposure to them can be avoided.

Last Monday, a long awaited day had come: I got my second tattoo done in a studio in Vienna. I don't remember when exactly I had come up with the idea for that one, I liked the Biohazard symbol for its meaning and shape even before I started to study Biotechnology, but I think it was around the first year of my Bachelor's studies that I thought about getting it tattooed. My boyfriend then had the idea that it would my gift from him for my graduation.

Once every hundred thousand years or so...

... I don't just dress up but I also manage to get some half-decent photos of my outfit! (Tenacious D reference intended! Got a catchy tune, anyone? :D )

I managed to secure a more-or-less well lighted sport for photos in our apartment. Our shelf looks so empty because most of my boyfriend's and almost all of my books are still at my parents' place :'D
